General Information About the River Jordan tours.

Our four day northern Israel tour package allows you to explore the highlights of this rich region – including Tiberias, the Yardenit Baptism Site on the River Jordan, Nazareth, Haifa, Acre, Rosh Hanikra, the Golan Heights, Capernaum, the Banias Nature Reserve, a boutique winery, Mount Bental, and the the Herodian port of Caesarea.

Day 01

The north of Israel offers a completely different experience than the rest of the country: lush green forests, quiet villages, mountains and beaches, ancient ruins, and holy sites of at least five different religions. There’s so many great places to visit, which is why we’re offering a four-day Northern Israel Package, so you can make the most of the Galilee, the Golan Heights and the rest of the north.

Our four days of adventure begin and end in Jerusalem. We drive up along the Mediterranean coast, until we reach the Caesarea National Park. Caesarea used to be a prosperous Roman city, and now, walking around the ancient ruins, it is easy to see the former glory of the Roman baths, amphitheater, port and villas. We’ll have time to wander around the site, before carrying on to Nazareth, in the heart of the Galilee, famous both for its association with Jesus, and for its vibrant and colorful marketplaces and food stalls today. You’ll join a great guided tour of Nazareth around the middle of the day, before you spend the night in this beautiful city, with an interesting nightlife and a variety of eating options.

Spend each of your nights in the magical Fauzi Azar Inn, where you will enjoy a delicious and rich middle eastern breakfast daily before embarking on your tours. Relax in the beautiful Arab mansion, tasting wonderful local cakes, whilst you can spend time in the large common areas under the magnificent ceiling artwork.

Day 02

On the second day, we’ll go up to the Golan Heights, an area overlooking the Galilee and bordering on Syria. We leave Nazareth in the morning and move on towards Capernaum, a village on the shore of the Sea of Galilee, where Jesus preached his famous Sermon on the Mount. We move on to the Banias nature park, where waterfalls gush from a fantastic spring. Next up is a visit to a local winery, one of Israel’s finest, where we’ll taste their latest wines. We carry on towards the frontier, going up Mount Bental and looking out over the Israeli and Syrian landscapes, with time for a quick bite to eat. We’ll stop by the Sea of Galilee again on the way back to Nazareth.

For those that choose to, there is also an option on Day 2 to take a kayaking tour on the Sea of Galilee instead. This is a full day tour visiting the important religious sites in the area such as Capernaum and Tabgha and includes a day of kayaking, full guiding, as well as breakfast and lunch.

Day 03

The Third consists of the western side of the Galilee, including Haifa, Acre and Rosh Hanikra. We leave Nazareth and stop nearby at Mount Precipice, with beautiful panoramic views of the region. We’ll drive through beautiful Mediterranean landscapes filled with both wineries and olive groves, as we head over to Haifa. Haifa is Israel’s third largest town, and the holy city of the Baha’i faith. We will visit the Baha’i temple at the top of Mount Carmel, and explore the striking gardens planted along the hillside. Next, we’ll visit the beautiful old city of Acre, with its crusader fortresses, ancient walls and beautiful mosques and marketplaces. Lastly, we’ll drive up to Rosh Hanikra, where the sea water has carved incredible caves into the cliffs, accessible only by cable car.

Day 04

The final day is back to Jerusalem. After a morning of independent exploring, we’ll leave Nazareth for the last time in the afternoon, and head east towards the Galilean hills. We arrive and explore at Tiberias, on the shore of the Sea of Galilee, and continue on to the Yardenit, a baptism site on the banks of the Jordan River itself. We’ll then continue on down the Jordan Valley, arriving back in Jerusalem at around 6pm.
